We were back at a returning client's home in Forest Hills for exterior window cleaning - and this one had a little extra to it. There was a large flat skylight sitting right on the roof that needed some real attention. Debris, grime, and everything that comes with having big trees overhead. It's the kind of detail that's easy to overlook but makes a noticeable difference once it's clean.
Skylights are tough. They sit flat on the roof, collect everything that falls from the trees above, and they're just awkward to get to safely. We take our time on these because the glass has to be spotless - any streaks or residue are immediately obvious from inside the house when the light comes flooding through.
The exterior windows on this home are a mix of standard units and some really nice architectural pieces. That arched window on the gable side is a good example. Frames like that have more edges, more detail, and more places for dirt to hide. We work through all of it the same way - methodically, and without rushing.
This client keeps coming back, and that's something we take seriously. It means they trust us in and around their home, and we show up for that. Whether it's a straightforward window wash or a tricky rooftop skylight, the standard doesn't change.
Clean windows change how a home feels - inside and out. The way natural light hits a clean pane versus a dirty one isn't subtle. It's one of those small things that has an outsized effect on how bright and welcoming a space feels.
